Filipino Ad Agency Winners in The Recent 2018 Spikes Asia Awards

The 2018 Spikes Asia Awards ceremony has just ended last month!

It was held at Suntec, Singapore last 26th to 28th of September. And I am sharing you the list of Philippine Agency award winners and their masterpiece. I wanted us (myself and my audience – who are Micro to Small Enterprises and Side Hustlers) to get a feel of the creativity level and find inspiration from local agencies who have won.

 

Those new to concepts of Marketing, would maybe notice how these are actually advertising campaigns and start to get confused between the two, I will share what I also figured out for myself back in the early days:
 
It was in 2002 when I asked myself the question: Is Marketing under Advertising? Back then I was really so new to both! I assumed it was but I felt like I was wrong. So is it the same thing, I wondered… Turns out I was indeed totally wrong on both assumptions. Silly me (forgive me, I was just a graphics girl)
 
Marketing and Advertising are not synonymous. Although when experts are asked to differentiate the two, you’ll probably get so many different answers. Yet it has been concluded that Advertising is just one component, or subset, of marketing along with public relations, media planning, product pricing and distribution, sales strategy, customer support, market research and community involvement. They make up the comprehensive marketing efforts.
 
In my opinion, it is very important for a business marketing representative (the micro/small business owner or the side hustlers) to consume inspiration from the works of the pro’s. In fact, I highly suggest it to anyone who reads my post and decide my words are of good value.
 
As a freelancer for a decade now, I have learned to build on my knowledge and freshen up my creative ideas by consuming, admiring and even criticizing other people’s work.
 
So for the Filipino noobs in Digital Marketing, to start you off with this good practice here’s the Filipino entrees that bagged award/s at the Spikes Asia Festival. Some have made me cry, and some made me laugh, so it’s definitely going to be worth your while.

Even though none of our entries have bagged a Grand Prix, and other countries have gotten more shortlisted submissions, our winning agencies and their creations are still a great inspiration that we Filipinos can think and creatively make campaigns worthy of recognition.
 
Also this article serves to give you the idea that there unlimited possible concepts and gimmicks to use on your own campaigns and they’re not necessarily as complex as an entire cinematography but it could be a genius print campaign like Snickers’ poster ads.

Publicis JimenezBasic, a part of Publicis One in the Philippines, recently won the coveted Agency of the Year title at the h Agency of the Year Awards of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies Philippines (4As) held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel in Manila. This year s recognition marks the second time the agency has won this award, a title they first won in 2007 (as Jimenez Basic). Additionally, Publicis JimenezBasic was also recognized with the Best in Market Performance award at this year s awards show.
